We Are Women Warriors' End of Year Meeting
We Are Women Warriors will be holding their 2017 end of the year meeting at the Frank E. Merriweather Library on Wednesday, December 6, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held to review and discuss the successes of the group and also to reflect on what remains to be addressed in 2018, among them, the unresolved status in the Cariol Holliman-Horne and John Walker & the 'Buffalo 5' cases.
In addition to all We Are Women Warriors members, we are requesting all women-oriented groups such as W.A.V.E., No More Tears, WOMEN and others to join us as we work to develop a strategy and a plan to work together in 2018 to help develop a more productive and safer community for all of us. The meeting will end at the Merriweather Library @ 7:45 Pp.m. After that we will go across the street to the Buffalo Empowerment Center, 1327 Jefferson Ave. for further networking and refreshments of chicken wings and pizza.
You are welcome to bring your young children as we have a limited amount of notebook paper, folders, spiral notebooks and other school supplies to give away to those who may be running short before the holiday season break for Buffalo Public Schools. These supplies will be given away on a first come-first serve basis until we run out. The distribution of these items will be at 1327 Jefferson immediately after the discussion in the library. For more information, please contact Esther Smothers @ (716) 894-0914 or Betty Jean Grant @ (716) 602-5877.
